Will the Potomac River be fishable after all the recent rain? How much debris is in the river at this time?

Not right now.  I'd wait until Sunday unless you're going to fish way back in a creek.

There's alot of logs and flotsam in it right now around DC and Alexandria. Be careful if you're running at any speed.

The Potomac River is muddy and it has a lot of debris in it.  If you choose to go out in the main river, be careful.  I am going out today but will stay in Aquia Creek rather than the main river.  It will take a couple of days for the river to settle down after all of those down pours we had the last couple of days.

I was out today.  Wasn't too bad in the Quantico, Powell's Creek, Mattawoman area.  Sure it was muddy but just a few floaters nothing serious.  Hey ron how'd you do?  We ended up with only six, biggest only 2 lb 3 oz.  Seemed slow, atleast for me.  No pattern, just one here, one there

I fished Lunga today because I needed to renew my base permit.  I had a bunch of Rage Tail baits destroyed by pickerel.  I was skunked as far as bass go.  I am thinking about launching at Aquia Creek tomorrow to fish the boat docks and pads.

Did they remove the barge and open the left side of the Hope Springs ramp?  

Been home sick most of the weekend so I din't get a chance to fish Aquia, I am hoping to fish there June 13th or 14th.  I will be out of town next weekend for my niece's high school graduation in Massachessetts.

a buddy and I fished the grass near pohick on Sunday. We did well. 5 fish for around 15-16lbs. Largest was 4.5.

I imagine. I'm gonna hit Aquia tomorrow I think so I will be able to see for myself

Really wow! That is surprising.  Howd you do?  I will be out for sure tomorrow, just trying to decide if I should launch out of Aquia or further north from a ramp on Quantico

I'm new to fishing and haven't been to too many places. Are there any good shore spots in aquia or pohick, as I do not have a boat.. Also, what's a good bait to use from the shore in any body of water for bass?

I know how that goes.  I've (well my dad I guess ) got a Bass Tracker 185 with a 60 horse Merc.  I'll post a report up tomorrow evening if I can get around to it

Went out today. Man was there was so much more debris compared to yesterday. We landed 10 with three thrown hooks at the boat. Largest went a little over 4lbs. Great day on the water!

What type of bait were you guys using and where did you guys use it?

Most came off the grass with senkos, spinnerbaits and flukes. Did you go out? Are you heading out this weekend?
