Fishing on the Eastern Shore Virginia????

heading down to cherrystone campground this week for some bay fishing..while im down there i would like to try and catch some big largemouth...i dont see any lakes around that area but i do see a ton of ponds...anyone know if they hold bass? costin pond,dixon pond,curtis pond and a couple others...thanks

I was confused by the title of your post. The "Virginia Peninsula" is the peninsula that has the cities of Newport News, Hampton, York County, etc. There are lots of lakes here that have bass.

But then I looked up Cherrystone and see its is in Northampton County. That peninsula is known as the "Eastern Shore." Unfortunately, it is not known for great bass fishing since all the ponds are pretty much privately owned, unless you can find a park.

However, saltwater fishing is excellent right now. My friend where I work went out on the bay for a few hours and caught 7 flounder, 4 over 19 inches.
