Nick, it might be a good idea to introduce yourself, where you are, and how old you are. The responses will be far better if people have some idea who they are trying to help.

I live in Orlando for about 3 years and found some spots that were pretty awesome right around UCF the UCF area. I believe it was called Innovation Park. Follow Mr. Welcome's advice and tell us about yourself in the intro section of the forum. Nice to have another Floridian on board. ;D

Bitters is my favorite shop anywhere.

also if you want live bait, shiners minnows and such ....

go to al's bait and tackle, its a little shop right off of goldenrod....

al is great too, he knows all the local spots....... and sells true wild shiners at decent prices.

i love that place, not for anything else inside, but simply for the bait and great knowledge of the area.......... just ask him, and he'll pour it all on ya!!

(if he's randomly closed lately, its bc his wife isn't doing so good.... so dont chaulk it up to him not caring about the fisherman)

if thats the case still, then i was grossly misinformed when i was turned onto the shop in the first place.

either way, he knows the area very well......

and quite honestly, i dont know of any other live bait options remotely close to the area that im in??

About 4 years ago, I lived on Goldenrod Rd (Gulfstream Harbor) and Al's Bait was my source of live bait.

Since I moved away though, I'm no longer abreast of the situation there.

For what it's worth, I do know from speaking with Al that he's partial to Lake Kissimmee.

In your situation I would recommend "Hart Lake".

Just past the entrance booth, find the ramp on the right side where you can launch.

Hart is quieter, prettier and less exploited than Mary Jane, and big bass live there.
