is red hot right now. caught 20 pounds today easily. i will tell you where on saturday night after my tourny. every spot i went to i crushed them. i hope it holds for saturday.

Oh man, I've been using a red shad berkly worm and they have been killin it! It's usually my go to when all others fail. Good luck with your turny.

Okeechobee is in pristine condition right now and set to become the country's best fishery.

Everywhere you look is an explosion of life. The spawn this fall is going to be insane. The drought was the best thing that ever happened to the lake.

i fished the same spots and came up with 13.72 pounds.  3 teams had 16+ pounds with a 5 pounder as big fish. the bite was slow but was really turning on at around 2ish--weigh in was at 3. i hate when you find them and 2 days later the same size fish just aren't their.  i guess that's fishin. had fun though--loxahatchee tomorrow.

I fished yesterday. I stayed away from Ritta and the floatilla. Bite was good in the morning....slowed.....and then died. I was off the water by 11:15.

I think that Ritta bite is done, I found them early in May, before the masses came, I had some great days out there this year.

Where is the bite now?  I got a club tourney next sunday.

We are launching from slim's in belle glade.

I am think I will take the ditch north from slim's and fishing the edges off the point. Should I make the run to uncle joes and fish observation shoal?

Any suggestions?

go to pelican bay. start on the inside and work your way out. i went there on thursday and caught 2 nice 4 pounders first thing in the morning. we heard some huge explosions all around us.

i fished cochrans and the shoal on saturday and just couldn't get a big bite. 3 teams in my club fished there as well and 2 of them had 16+ pounds. in hindsite i should have fished pelican on saturday, but with my boat i have to make a choice and committ to it.

I really appreciate the info. I have been skunked my last three trips to Okeechobee. Hopefully I will do better this time.

We should get all the South/central  Fl BR members and do a little tourney at lake O sometime. I think that would be cool.

thats what i thought. i fished on Sunday to avoid it. On that lake though it doesnt seem to matter much. So much water.

I won our tournament yesterday with 16lbs and big fish, a hair under 6, If you were anywhere by the shoal you probably saw us running around like crazy.
