Florida - John Fox / Trophybass.com fishing?

Featured Replies

Hey Folks-

Considering making a trip next Spring to Florida, and looking at John Fox's "Trophy Bass" guide service, located in Oklawaha, FL....

Anyone have any experience with their guide service, or that area? Haven't ever fished that area....

Look on his web page for references to include those references e-mail addresses. Also, look for posted rates. If nothing there look somewhere else for a guide.

ben, never tried them but if you want to have a very good guide and day. look up Preston Clark.

Ben, go with George Welcome. I would never ever consider going with the guy you asked about myself. Some of my clients have fished with both and I often hear the good and the bad about most guides.  I have heard nothing but good about George. Can't say that about some others.

John Fox hosts a senior fishing show on channel 47.

As a Florida resident myself, who's in the inner loop,

I don't believe that John Fox is your man

(sorry, but this is a No-Spin zone).

I've never had the pleasure of fishing with George Welcome

(I've never fished with any guide, for that matter),

but George comes highly recommended with strong repeat business.

That area is way to far north for me. Unfortunately I don't know anyone to recommend in that area. I am in the area of lakes such as Stick Marsh/Farm 13, Blue Cypress, and Ansin/Garcia.
