West Toho area fish camps or cabins, cottages, rental houses

Featured Replies

Glenn, I looked throught the forum headers and really couldn't find a place for this.

Instead of staying at a condo, I figured that I'd take a quick look at cabins or cottages near or on West Toho. I am aware of Richardson's but can't find an email or site anywhere. Any info on Richardson's or any others would be appreciated...cabins, cottages, house rental. Looking for March 13-21/2010 (flexible). Thanks.

TJ.

There are tons of motels in Kissimmee right near the lake.

Middle of the chain - http://campmack.com/

South end - http://grapehammock.com/

North end of Toho to south end of Kissimmee is a 45 min ride with 1 lock thru.

Especially if you're interested in fishing the Shingle Creek region of West Toho,

Richardsons is an excellent choice. I stayed there once and it's a beautiful location,

with several size cabins and live shiners on premises.

Roger, I'm staying at camp Mack for a week Feb/Mar. Do they sell wild shiners at the camp? Thanks...............Al

Roger

They sell everything at Mack.

Bingo!! The dancing girls are a little scary 8-) but they have about everything else.

and plan a trip to the fishermans candystore on Sr 60 across from Walmart in Lake Wales.

Good choice.

That camp is a piece of angling history, but it's a 13-mile boat ride and one lock-thru to Lake Toho.

Thanks Guys. The boat ride doesn't bother me, the 1000 mile drive is another matter. We intend to fish numerous lakes around central Florida, from Istapoga to the Big O and maybe Stick Marsh as well as K chain and Toho. Will decide each day where we are fishing tomorrow and using  shiners will eliminate one problem.

Fishindaddy- We will hit the candystore and try to avoid the dancing girls.

Thanks to all for the info...................Al
