well from what i have read on the internet it seems to be a great fishery and im anxious to see the fish it can produce. and ive also read it is ranked 5th in bass fishing in the U.S. is that true?

It is great, it can be tough also. try to make georgia southerns tourny there in Fed. its the weekend before okeechobee. You can catch largemouth or shoal bass.

ttufishinman,

Is that the TTU in Cookeville?

I have never fished it, but know many who have. From what I am told the channels are not marked well and you must be careful on that lake. That being said, I have heard of at least two tournament sacks from that lake in the past year that were over 30 pounds. That is a six pound average!!! Not sure how the fishing is on Center Hill or Percy Priest, but around here 6 pounds will win you big fish practically every tourney. A 6 pound average and folks will acuse you of cheating!!!

Good luck, be careful.

30 pounds is not rare there. Last weekend there was a tourny won with 3 fish going 22 pounds. it can be tough be could be off the hook.

Its overwhelming at times. There's so much Hydrilla you just have to tune it out. You can go to a spot that should be guaranteed to have fish and not get a bite, other times you go to an identical place and get nailed. I've never had a productive day there, but every fish I've caught has been over 3 pounds. Might try throwing frogs over and around hydrilla mats that time of year.
