FARM 13 / STICK MARSH

Featured Replies

What is the real story with this area? One local guide says the fishing is so poor he won't take clients there anymore. Other guides are giving reports saying the lakes are as good as ever.

I was planning a trip and the reports were so conflicted I gave up.  :( What is the report from local fisherman?

You need to find out if that local that isn't taking anyone, works part time or full time - perhaps he's is one of those creatures that "has boat, is guide".

I quite sure that if you checked out the doom and gloom reports of this "guide" you would find that this type of reports have been spouted by him all along.

If the weather has cooperated than so have the fish. The last half of March has seen days with over 50 caught and days of being blown off the lake. We can safely report over 300 bass in the last half of the March. Some were pretty decent in size also.

Perhaps if this local negative "guide" making such reports knew what he was doing he wouldn't have such a hard time finding fish such as those above. But, when you are out there only part time perhaps you only hit those days where weather turns all things bleak.

Book your trip with George.  Problem solved.

The fishing isn't poor on the Stick Marsh.  With the grass gone you have to find the fish.  If you aren't even here for months at a time you have no clue as to how to find the fish.  This is the same guy that once claimed they couldn't open the spillway or they couldn't close it again and Garcia would drain.  I'm just saying.....

All depends on the weather for sure. Our trip last week was very poor due to 100mph winds! In better conditions you will "kill" them.

Hey George and Don! Sorry we missed you guys this past winter. Did not get out that much and tryed some other lakes also. Did OK at that other lake you know. Good luck ...seeya next year i hope.

Thanks for the heads up, folks. I'll start planning for 2011.
