I will be fishing the Shennendoah River on Saturday.  My question is what types of lures will I need?  I have never fished in the river.  We will be taking a canoe trip.  Any help will be appreciated.

Jerkbaits or topwater fished along the shore line and structures.

its a shallow, slow river. i like using small jigs and small cranks.

i've have had good luck with rebel wee craws and jointed rapalas. my bigger smallmouth have come from 4" double tail yamamoto hula grubs and bitsy bug jigs.

Where at on the river, what county ?

Buy some 1/8 ounce jigheads and some Zoom Salty Fat Albert grubs. You can't go wrong. Also, get a couple of Heddon Torpedoes and you will do fine.
