Danville, VA area??

Featured Replies

Anyone have any good suggestions for bass fishing in the Danville, Va area?  I recently moved here and am ready to explore some new places....

I moved from an area where I fished Briery and Sandy River weekly.... I have a 14 foot jon with gas motor too, any suggestions??

Don't have any ideas for fishing Danville but I'm curious why you moved there. I used to date a girl that lived there and there is nothing to do there. Very sleepy lil town. I cant help but feel bad for ya. Good luck and hope you find some spots to fish.

Funny you say that.... I took a job that addresses that very issue.... I manage an entertainment complex called the Crossing at the Dan...  we have concerts, festivals, a farmers market, a wonderful trail beside the river...

we have some good concerts coming this summer if you like country... Dierks Bentley, Zac Brown Band, and Jake Owen.... 3 pretty good ones...

gonna be hard to match those lakes!!! im going to briery this weekend!  ;)

good luck!  8-)

Also, I have been hearing that Mercy Me is going to do a show in Danville, as well as a community service project with God's Pit Crew!  Tell me that we're not on the map now :)

Actually, I live now in Franklin Co, but have always essentially been from the Roanoke area.  However, I own an insurance agency there in Danville, so I'm down there fairly regularly.

I would recommend that you stop by Old Dominion Gun and Tackle (on 58 West {Riverside Dr}, about 3-4 miles outside of town....i.e. heading towards Martinsville). There are always some locals hanging around there, and you "may" be able to squeeze a little local advice from them ;).  Most folks that I talk to either come up to Smith Mountain Lake, or go to Hyco.

Best of luck to you, and feel free to stop by anytime...
