The family is going to Parramores Fish Camp on the St Johns river for the Labor Day Weekend.  We have never been there and was looking for any advice for Lake George or Lake Dexter.

try eel grass lines, pads and hydrilla with a devils horse, pitching, frogs or worms. also a c-rig on humps, points, and bars in the river.

Hey FishinDaddy

Give us a report on the fish camp when you get back.  My wife and I are always looking for new places for trips.

I haven't been there in awhile but we used to rent a house boat every summer for a week and stay at Silver Glen Springs. We always brought the bass boat with us and had pretty good luck on the shoreline east of the bombing range.

Lake George is a huge lake and can get scary at times. There will be tons of pleasure boat traffic that whole weekend so get out early and get in early. The east shoreline has been good. There is a lot of eel grass in this lake so take your pick and move through it fast. The bass should be on the outside edge in the morning.

Thanks guys

Flyboy - we stopped in and toured the place last weekend on the way back from Daytona. The cabins are as nice as Camp Mack/Grape Hammock. 1 bed to 4 beds with several on/over the water. Mostly 2 bedroom in the $115 per night range. The have a large full hookup campground with a nice bathhouse for around $35 a night. We have an RV so to save money I am going to pull it and Nicole will pull the boat.

They have a swimming pool and basketball court. Many covered boat slips for rent at 5 bucks a day.

1 small single lane boat ramp. They don't have tourneys out of there so that should be fine.

It is surrounded by a state park and is in downtown nowhere. My favorite place.

They have many full time (experienced ::)) residents which as you know are better than dobermans for security.

Overall impression. Very clean, well kept, family oriented. I got a really good vibe talking to Troy, who was running the place Sunday.

A full report will be posted when we get back.
