Moving to Goldsboro, NC area
Thanks. What are some of the lakes in that area? My fishing buddy from Florida is already up there and said they have been doing pretty good on the Nuese. I also have a long time friend stationed at Legeune so I will be down there on the weekends when I can.

Moving to Goldsboro, NC area
Well our project here in MS is finishing up and it looks like I'm heading to another project in Goldsboro. I am trying to find some good places to go once I get there any ideas would help.

The kind of crap I think about in the dead of winter.
I had to pick other cause when it hits you and hits you hard you have to take the first available option. I remember one time as a kid my Dad took me and my brother to a friend's pond to do some bluegill fishing when it hit him. We had driven over there in my Dad's jeep that had a 350 with a blower on it and he tried to make it home in time but as fast as that jeep was it just wasn't fast enough. Me and my brother still laugh about asking my Dad why he changed shorts and him having to tell us why. Tokyo Tony that is hilarious and reminds me of some of my friends.

Are you guys serious? The Rays will win it this year.

does anyone else do this?
Roll the cheese and ham around a pickle with some mustard. My wife thinks it is gross, but she doesn't know what she is missing.

need some direction on a new set of polarized glasses
I have worn Oakley, RayBan, Spy, and some of the cheap 20 dollar brands, but I got a set of Native glasses a few months back and I don't see myself buying any other brand for a while.

Odd hypothetical question but I'm bored so here goes:
If it got me on the water I would definitely use one.

Mossberg 500
I have a Winchester 1300 that I got about 13 years ago and I wouldn't trade it for any Mossberg or Remington, but if you are set on either an 870 or a 500 I would recommend the 870. I had a buddy that had a 500 and it had problems feeding the rounds every now and then.

Native Sunglasses
I have the Gonzo/Asphalt model and I don't plan on changing to another brand anytime soon.

Smoked pork rub
I am going to be smoking a deer and hog ham on Thanksgiving and was wondering if anybody had a good rub recipe. I am not new to smoking, I am just looking for something different this time.

Handguns
I carry a Glock 23 with me everyday. I bought my wife a S&W 38 for her to have at the house when I had to work night shift and when I was working out of state. I have a Ruger Single Six that I just use for plinking. I also have a Kel Tec 380 and a XD 45. For home protection my Winchester 1300 is what I will reach for everybody knows what that sound is when you rack one in.

Rounds in the home
I buy about 200 rounds each in the same lot number for my 270 and 7-30 waters, and I keep around 1000 rounds combined for my pistols, shotguns, and AR15. Sometimes that isn't enough especially when I go shooting with my brother.

What frog do you use?
I like the scumfrog bigfoot, but I will use the mans super frog some times too. My buddy back home in Florida was laughing at the scumfrog till I out did him 3 or 4 times in a row with it then he had to go buy one for his self.

Costa
I would recommend Native eye wear. I just got a pair at Gander Mnt. a couple of months back and I wont be going back to Oakleys or Costas. Not that those brands aren't any good, but the Natives only cost around 100 and you can get interchangeable lens for 60 to 80 a set.

Ford Ranger
I had a 97 ranger with the 4 banger and drove it till it had 120,000 or 130,000 on it and never had a problem with it I just traded up to a F150. I am currently driving a 02 ranger with a 6 cylinder with 130,000 on it. I bought it with 50,000 on it and only had to replace the brakes at 110,000. If it is a 98 model it is priced high even with the low miles but they are dependable trucks.

Montana?
The hunting and fishing is amazing out there, but I worked out that way from January till May this year and it is rough in the winter one day it is nice the next you are snowed in.

Work...aaaauuuugh
Man I love what I do and the money is good but they are killing my fishing and hunting time. I haven't had a day off in 2 weeks and I only have 3 scheduled in the next 5 weeks and when we are working 12 hours a day the only time left is time to spend with the family. I know I got it better than alot of people with the way the economy is but sometimes you just got to complain about not being on the water or in the woods.

World Series. Who you got?
Since the Rays are out it will have to be the Rangers but only because they kept the Yankees out.
-
Your fishing goals?
Keep teaching my 10 year old son as much as possible about fishing and the outdoors and keep my 5 year old daughter as excited about fishing as she already is. Most importantly finally get my wife to understand why I need so much stuff for fishing and hunting. ;D

What's your fishing style ?
It depends on if I am fishing from shore or out of the boat. If I am in the boat I take everything. If I am on shore and I know the pond or lake I will normally rigg up 2 or 3 rods with something I know works there but I still bring the rest of the tackle and leave it in the truck incase I want to change something.

For the custom made knife guys
I just picked this up at the MS Pecan Festival this weekend. There was a group of custom knife makers there and one of the guys was actually hammer forging knifes there and this is one of his knifes.
