Update on Hooker Bait and Tackle

Stopped by last night to pick up some frogs and spoke to Darryl.  The "convenience store" thing fell through and the apparently the lease holder isn't letting him out (3 years to go).  So he is going to invest some money in new stock and give it another go.   Looks like he will stay open for the foreseeable future.

Good.

Drove by the store last week but did not stop in.

Would be nice if he had a sale for Labor Day.  :)

He always has a sale.  All you have to do is ask and it's 10-20% off anything in stock.  You can pick up Lucky Craft cranks in there cheaper than Greentop or BPS.

Im new to this forum and just read this thread. If you could give some more backround info and find out if maybe they would take phone orders , we could get some people together from here to place some orders. Its always good in my mind to support small businesses.

Hookers will take phone orders. He actually has a lot of nice, higher end stuff. Especially Megabass and Lucky Craft baits. That's part of his problem, IMO, is that he has too much high end stuff and not enough bread-n-butter equipment 90% of walk-in customers are looking for.

His website is not up to date but has a lot of stuff on it. I would call in any orders.

Toano exit.

Exit 227.

Micro...

Do you think that he may want some help in a facelift to his website? An updated site with more options could help him increase sales/customer base. I think I could help him on the website if he wanted someone to... :) I have done web design in the past and see potential with his site, from both a design and business standpoint. :)
