I've been having trouble fishing my local lake...it's like a pond not a lake and there are three of them all separate.  I want to know how do I fish this lake because it's only like 6-8 ft deep at the deepest.  Anything would help

So, its three ponds, and they are all shallow and clear?  Get a pair of polarized sunglasses and site fish.  No weeds either?  Any finesse plastic will do.  If there are weeds, then t-rig plastic and jigs.  If its weed choked, then hollow frog/rat baits.

I have found in the pond I fish that t-riged worms and drop shot worms work well.  I am not sure if color truly matter but I use more opac colors shad colors baby bass colors, and then I have heard that size is an issue smaller is better I use 4" worms.

Finally I agree glass that help you see in th water, walk softly and cast ahead of you before the fish see you.

You wouldn't be discribing El Dorado park would you..? I fish there pretty often. Long cast's are needed, stand away from the shoreline as far as possible, and be as Silente as you can. To catch bass you first have find the fish, I've had them hit almost everything, however...there are a couple of presentations that work really well..

yea that's right El Dorado Park baby.  But why do you want me to stay away from the shoreline.  During spring I caught my first bass there using a rapala xrap XR08 in greenish color.  I just want to know what would work right now because I've thrown almost everything and still no bites.

He suggested you should stay away from the shore line because the fish can see you and get spooked.

What is the popular opinion of float tubes in the situation described? Are they spooked by a floating blob?

First off, andf this is for the OP..El D as we call it, is Very high pressured place. As such, the bass become conditioined to seeing all kinds of lures. At the present time they are stocking the 2 larger lakes with trout, so the bigger bass are keying in Live bait fish.

BTW, at the above mentioned place, there is no float tubing, can only fish from shore, and it's fairly shallow, with the water being slightly stained to clear.

Best 2 baits to toss right now are swimbaits in trout, and spinnerbaits around the tullies, imho these are your 2 best bets, that's not to say you can't catch them on anything else.

BTWm I have been there the last 3 days, and got the big skunk all 3. The bite has been really tough, for getting quality fish other than dinks.

Depends on the time of year..i.e. during the spawn, probably not, fish will swim Very close to shore and don't get spooked by much..when they are inactive, I think they spook much easier , also depends on the lake, fish ect. Some lakes have bass that will run for cove at the drop of a pin, or the slightest movment, others the fish are much bolder...so who could say for sure..?

Try natural colors for clearer waters.
