I might be going to vet school in this town next year. What's the general deal with bass fishing in this area (clubs, lakes, etc.). I've only been to Cali once (for a day) and I'm from the northeast US, just looking for some info. Any local lakes that have a lot of 10 lb plus potential?

Diamond Valley lake would be 1, Castaic would be another. There are a couple local city park lakes close by. legg lake in whitter narrows, Puddinstone dam.  DVL, and Castaic can be googled for more info.

i live close to you.puddingstone is right there.it can be a tough lake but if your good you might pull in a couple double digits.this time of year is great time but they can be caught all year round.  good luck and maybe i'll see you on the lake

p.s. if you don't dropshot i advice you take it up

Thanks guys. anyone know of any clubs in the area?

Puddingstone is gonna by your goto lake if your gonna be residing in Pomona.

But there are many other decent city park lake in the area too.

But if you're looking only  +10lb lmb's Diamond Valley Lake and some of the other lakes surrounding it would be your best bet.

As for bass clubs, I don't have a clue.

Corona and Irvine are Pay lakes, i.e. it's 22.00 just to get in each of those lakes. Corona is more known for the trout, but there are some nice bass in there. Corona gets Really crowded on the weekends..all the morons come out to fish for dinner. ::)
