Copper Mountain, Colorado Area?

Featured Replies

I'm going to be around here for a week or so soon. Any lakes or ponds that would be good to shore fish from or take a float tube in?

Thanks

Not that much good fishing in that area, just smaller trout. You need to go to the Denver area, the Pueblo area, or the Grand Junction area for decent bass fishing.

Just wondering if the Dillon Dam had any smallies in there? That wouldn't be far from Copper Mtn in my opinion.

Dillon Dam doesn't have smallies, it's a lousy fishery with a bunch of little trout and kokeanee thanks to the wonderful management of the Colorado Disaster, er Division, of Wildlife.

Plenty of decent bass fishing in the Denver area. Aurora reservoir has a fair smallie fishery with some bigguns, Chatfield has tons of smallies but not many over 2 pounds. Lots of smaller ponds like Ward Pond, and others hold some nice largies up to 6-7 pounds. Why don't you contact Paul Roberts on this board, he lives in the area and does very well.
