Is it real?

Featured Replies

This pic was on "rumor control", a segment of "The Daily Buzz".

Rumor has it that it is a real pic taken by a hunter on Wyoming.  1/2 true.

The pic is real but was taken by a professional photographer.  The eagle was eating the frozen carcass and the fox tried to nuzzle in.  Bad move.  Although this skirmish remained land bound, they stated that a Golden Eagle certainly can carry a fox high into the sky should it choose to do so.

Pretty cool.

Oh man, found a little more proof that Eagles will attack a fox. (If you love dogs, you may want to avoid this clip)

Years ago on a farm I hunted rabbits, ringnecks and quail and a young boy we were teaching hunting dog handling shot a small young red fox. We heard him shoot and he was on the other side of a knoll. He ran over to tell us he had shot a fox and when we went over to look at it a Red-Tailed hawk had carried it up to a tree limb about 15' high. I was amazed that he got it up there. It was one of those things you always remember. By the way, that picture is awesome. It will make a nice wallpaper, thanks.

I love snopes...they always have answers to urban legends and other things. However, LBH, looks like you called it right. This is a true picture! :o

Look at the freeze frame pictures.

They mentioned that the pic was from a series but I couldn't find them.  Those are awesome.

Yeah, it almost just doesn't seem possible...  :o

Stop action photography with bright snow is no joke.  Very touch to dial in when you have time, nevermind having the camera set perfectly when the event occured.

I guess that's the difference between "pro" and "hobbyist",lol

Definitely!  ;)

I wonder if an eagle could do that to a bobcat?  If so, THAT would be ironic.

I don't know if a eagle could carry off a bobcat but, I would like to see one carry off my ex girlfriend. :D

Notice the little bird didn't waste time leaving.  The fox was probally saying to himself Oh sxxt this isn't a chicken

So cool i wouldn't belive it with out photographic evidence....thanks for that LBH.

:) That is right darn scary!  Guess that I won't be stealing any eagle eggs.  ;D  Those still shots are excellent as well.  Didn't realize that eagles were also scavengers.  Nursed a hawk that had been hit by a truck back to health once.  Had to wave a hotdog on a string in front of it.  Once it had caught it, it would eat.   :)

This is downright wild!!!  Wow.  Great pictures.  Be careful if you like to wear a coon skin cap.   ;)
