The Tuna has had enough!

I wouldn't want to deal with Terrell Owens either!

Exactly.

I also love how Parcells waited long enough for all these other teams to hire good coaches and now that leaves the Cowboys scrambling for a new head coach.  I love it.  My grandma is a Cowboy fan, sorry for her.

Wait a second everyone!!!  It is not Terrell Owens to Bill Parcells...it is "the player". I don't blame Parcells for not wanting to mess with "the player". "The Player" is far and away the most infamous sports icon on the planet...even bigger than Manny Ramirez, Scott Boras, Rasheed Wallace and other notable "me me me me me" type people.

I can't think of anyone that would want to deal with TO :o.  I was listening to the reports on ESPN today and almost everyone that is close to parcells is saying that up until last evening he was talking about going to the senior bowl and continuing his work.  I think something else happened that we don't know about yet.  Bill is his own man and not anyone's puppet and that might be the problem.  Jerry Jones has been known for sticking his nose into things and situations that his input is not needed or wanted, maybe parcells just had enough of the whole cowboy situation, including TO.

That's the thing with the Cows (as Randy Galloway calls them).  Their only success came at the hands of Jimmy Johnson until Jerry started to meddle in his business.  That's why Jimmy quit.  Barry Switzer only rode Jimmy's coat-tail.  Everyone else (except for Parcell's) has been a puppet.  I'm sure at the onset of hiring Parcells, Jerry vowed to keep out, but couldn't keep his end of the bargain.  I never could believe that Parcells would come here in the first place (other than to cash in on some quick retirement $$$).  I guess I'm surprised to see him stay this long.

Yes, Cabela10, very funny!! ;D

The only way this team will ever be successful again is if Jerry sells them (or finally agrees to butt out of the coach's business. . . I don't see that happening).

I guess TO finally pushed him over the edge.I can't imagine having to deal with a nut case like that day after day.Bill, enjoy your retirement. You deserve it !!!

I suspect dealing with renegade players is much easier than brash ownership. That's something head coaches are faced with much of the time. Parcels has been there, done that. He has had a great career and now it's time to move on. I don't really think the circumstances are all that mysterious or complicated.

Jerry probably was the problem , not TO.

I'm glad to see him leave.  He might be an excellent x and o type coach but everytime i hear him speak he makes most feel like the sky is falling.  Talk about a "glass is half empty" type guy!  Parcells is good buddies with Bobby Knight.  That should tell you something or two about his personality.

TO is and will always be a distraction.  To think us Cowboy fans used to think Keyshawn was a problem!  I long for those days now.

The good news is we have a good team.  Bad news is it is owned by Jerry Jones.

jb,

I don't see how an owner who gave us three championships is a bad thing.    The Saints have been trying to get the job done for 40 years and don't have a single ring to show for their 40 years.

Parcels inherited Quincy Carter and was 10-6, then during training camp, the druggie was fired, and that left Bill with bringing in old man time, thus 6-10, then he got Drew, who had the best stats of his life in Buffalo, but they decided he didn't protect the ball anybetter there, than he did in NE, so we got the fumbling statue of Dreadsoe.     Bill is tough on his coaches and players, but taking 4 different teams to the playoffs and two of those to the superbowl speaks loudly when you compare how many coaches don't ever make the playoffs or win not one but two superbowls.

Jerry has given me the right to boast with the steeler and 49ers, the only teams to have won 5.

Matt.

As a Cowboy fan I'm not complaining about the titles.  I think had Jerry stayed out of Jim Johnson's business a little less we might have won four in a row instead of 3 out of 5.

Jerry has a right to be concerned with the operations.  he paid lots of money.  I just think he thinks he's a coach too.  the fact that he commenting back when he fired JJ that "i could get 500 coaches (or whatever the # was) and coach this team to a SB" speaks volumes of his inabilty to respect a coach's skills.

With that said i dont see Parcells as the guru that others do.  every team he picked up was sorry.  real sorry.  so making them better was a whole lot easier than getting worse.

I'm right there with you about the 5 titles.  until last year we could boast about just us and the 49'ers
