Just curious, did a search and found almost nothing about the Food Source line of bass baits here.  I understand the baits are 100% protein and nutrient rich fish food, durable, biodegradable, and have attractants in them.

I was wondering, anybody here have any experience with them, and what do you think of them?

I was wondering the same but, from about 6 posts I have read, I heard they weren't so great...

I bought some with a Boater's world certificate that was about to expire and didn't need anything else from there. Besides a couple of packages of catfish baits and some panfish worms, I did get a package of Senko style worms. I haven't had a chance to use them yet and I really don't think they will be good for Bass. They are really stiff; I don't think they will be at all attractive to Bass. I'll give them a chance but I have a suspicion that they are going to get cut up into more catfish chunks!

I got a free pack from Bob Sealy's Big Bass Splash threw them in the bottom of the rod box and forgot em. About 3 months later my buddy Pat found them and put one on and caught a 5 lb bass on the first cast. Then proceeded to catch several more in the 2 to 3 lb range; so needless to say we used up my pack and his. They worked just fine but I never could find anyone who sales them so I aint used the since and that was 4 years ago.

I highly believe scent only takes place when "bass" have the bait in their mouth, I believe the effect of the scent is to make them hold on a little longer. With that being said the action of the bait is what gets them to hit, if the action of the bait I'snt anything great your most likely not going to get many bites IMHO, so therefore the scent would have barely any effect. I don't know if you bought the food source baits before, but they are stiff (or atleast the ones I bought), so the action is pretty crappy. I would choose a nonscented soft plastic with better action over a scented low action bait. But why use unscented baits with high action when you have scented baits with high action like Yum, or Berkley Powerbait, then again you can just scent your own baits.

Basiclly what im saying is action is alot more important IMO then scent. And food source baits from what I have found have low quality action.
