I was just about to post this. Man, its a great show, well put together and very moving. They are showing you the side of Dale that not many people ever got to see. He'll probably gain even more fans after this is over.

I really liked the part where he was riding in his Gambler  ;)

R.I.P. Dale....you're still the man!

I seen the first hour of it last night and I learned a lot about the guy I didn't

know. He better be glad he has plenty of money because he will never get a girl

with the attitude he has toward woman. quote ( I'm the boss are nothing )

Man I hope I can see him after he does get married. ( He is in for a surprise.) ;D

That was an awesome movie. I think it was def. the best racing show/movie i have ever seen. It was a lot better than ESPN's movie. He was always my favorite driver growing up and i was there when he died in 2001 and also at the atlanta race when harvick won and that was awesome. I was glad how they didnt end with his death like ESPN and continued races afterwards adn interviewed drivers and owners. If you missed it, it comes back on tomorrow at 8.

Repeat!

It's on CMT right NOW!

I'm watching it as we speak.

I don't get CMT anymore. :'(

Recently, Comcast bought the cable from Adelphia, and turned it into Comcrap.

They rearranged all the channels, and gave us just enough time to get used to them, then they moved a lot of the popular channels (CMT included) up to the higher channels, and you need to buy some stupid box to view them.

Charters doing that in my area.  They're slowly but surely taking channels from expanded basic cable and putting them on digital which is more expensive.

The real skinny is he was a nice, down to earth guy that built a massive cult like following similar to Elvis.

On the track, his driving style was described as aggressive,  others called it dirty.

Behind Petty, he was Nascars greatest driver.  I feel sorry for his son though, he's had massive expectations heaped upon his shoulders the day he got into a racecar. That weight only got heavier when his dad died.

In the aftermath of his death, there was a great deal of controversy surrounding the cause of his death in the accident.  Bill Simpson, owner of Simpson racing products, a company with a long history of supplying the racing industry with seat belts and other racing related safety items was wrongfully accused of supplying insuficient belts.  The belts were found broken at the crash scene.

As it turned out, it was Earnharts desire to have his seat mounted in a certain position that caused the belts to not be able to work to their maximum efficiency.  Nascar knew this but allowed him to keep his seat that way because, well, he was Earnhart.  Mr. Simpson had warned Dale about this earlier but Earnhart continued to run his seat that way.  He was also the last guy to not wear a full face helmet and instead, used an open face with goggles.

I saw the first half of it on tuesday or wednesday or whenever the premier was I never really liked the guy much either but that movie can give anyone a deeper liking for him. I also agree with whoever said that Jr. had a big heavy burden and it got smaller/or bigger (depending on how you look at it) when he left DEI. At least he's racin for a team that has some potential other than DEI.
