Child - proof Drawers

Featured Replies

Subject: Child-proof Drawer

My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass." "We're not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We're raising boys." Harmon Killebrew

THATS FUNNY I DON"T CARE WHO YOU ARE

totally cute,

That little boy couldn't have more a gleeful laugh.

The dog looked a little worried though.

Many years ago, when my son (now almost 16) was about that age, I spent an entire day installing babylocks on all the drawrs and cabinet doors.  I started at the back of the house in the bathroom and worked my way to the kitchen.  As I was about to finish the job, my wife called me to the back of the house only to find that he had figured out how to open the locks and had put lipstick and makeup on the dog.  That brought back some memories for me.

I kept expecting a finger to get in there.  Shad master, my daughter figured them out too, but not right away.  I remember once when she was three or just turned four when she offered my wife some Tylenol for her headache.  She came walking into the living room with a bottle and the lid off.  We're like, "How'd you do that?".   :o  She said, " I read the instructions. . . it say's push down and turn."  Child-proof my rear.  :D

I read this subject title to mean,, well never mind,, I am tired... :-[ :-/ :-/

My wife is a teacher and professional tutor.  Her job has take her all over the place including a graduate early chidhood development class.  In this class they did an experiment with a control group of 200 kids (12-24months) spanning a two months using objects that where supposed to be child proof; bottles, doors, locks, pill bottles and believe it or not an unloaded gun.  The results were that about 20% of the kids could open, use, or figure out the function of the object.  The odd thing was that the most of those 20% could figure out all the objects

Kids are amazing given no parental suppervision.  If they want something bad enough they will figure it out.
