Hey Fellas with the shootout about 6 weeks away and the start of the season who do you guys root for. Like my Baseball team , I root for a perrinial loosing program ST.Johns, they havent been the same since Lou retired and that NBA ( I cant us e the word here) Jarvis corrupted that team :-[

Anyway there may be few surprises this season, the biggest from arguably one of the smallest schools in NCAA I Ball GONZAGA, looks like may be able to make a run to the final 4 this year

UNC Tarheels all they way for me, followed by the Kentucky Wildcats, except for when they meet December 1, then all bets are off. That game kinda've starts a civil war in my house. My wife likes Carolina but she was born and lived in Lexington until she was seven or eight . Much of her family still lives there so she has some loyalty to UK. I like them because they have a strong winnng tradition. The one team I hate is Puke, I mean Duke. The only thing I like about Duke is their medical hospital, they did a great job on my spinal tumor last year.

Memphis Tigers and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets!!! A lot of people are picking Memphis to win the national championship. After watching a couple of the early games I have decided Derrick Rose (freshman pg) is dirty!!!!

You guys don't think KU got lost at the football game?   B ball is in the house and no RockChalk JayHawk chants.

Basketball??? Do we have a team this year?

Hard to believe our football team is ranked higher than our basketball team at the moment. Basketball season sure did creep up faster than normal this year. Most of the attention has been football team. Normally I am counting down the days until hoops tip off around the first of October. Not this year.

Team looks descent so far. I think we might be a bit over-rated at 4 right now, but who exactly has earned their ranking at this time of year.  There is definitely some potential there to do some great things though. Our front court needs to develop and when we get Brandon Rush back in a couple weeks we should have one of the best (if not the best) and deepest back courts in the nation.

It's a good time to be a Jayhawk.

With the end of both the football and NASCAR seasons, I call the ensuing months the "sports doldrums."  That's the time of year when my attention turns to Curling, the cultivation of my Chia Pets, and, of course, painting my toe-nails.

I couldn't have said it better.  After watching a couple of games, our inside is not that good yet.  Freethrows are called "FREE" for a reason.  Why can't we hit em?  Watched Pitt St. lead the kitties for most of the game the other day, wow!  Beasley is probably the real deal, but they looked pretty bad as a team.

Is it just me, or should Darnel Jackson be starting in place of Sasha Kaun

crapola .... and I just saw Sherron Collins is expected to be out 6 weeks

Not sure about starting but, I do believe he will get a LOT more playing time.  Jackson still seems lost at times but shot is developing nicely.    With Collins and Rush out it well give Reed and Stewart a bunch of minutes which will be helpful later in the year.

Very funny, Long Mike!! ;D   I used to be that way too, but my interest in college hoops has peaked over the past few years, partly due to my Aggies success.  

I just hope we can be as successful as we've been in the past now that we're without Acie Law and Billy Gillespie.  I've heard that Mark Turgeon plays hard defensive ball just like Gillespie though. We'll see.

KU-  Yes, I'm enjoying the Jayhawks' success of late, too.  The OSU game was a pleasure to watch and I think Missou and OU should be very concerned about you guys.

Impressive 10 pt. victory over the Gorillas the other day.   Pitt. St. lead most of the way till the last 10 minutes when they had the 'deer n headlights' look on em.    Oh well, we didn't look that great against UMKC either.
