I have the honor of getting up at 4 am and smoking it.  Last year was the first time I tried that.  Best turkey I have ever had.  Haven't had fried yet though.

The wife and I are doing our first total thanksgiving dinner this year. Well her mostly, my only requirement is to stay out of the way ;D For the 15 years we have been married we have always had thanksgiving at her or my grandparents house. Well they have all rested now so its up to us now. So I guess it will be baked this year. Will get into other methods as time goes by.

For the first time in our thirty-nine years of marriage, my wife is not cooking dinner. We have been invited to our daughter-in-law's parents for dinner. Usually my wife would bake a large turkey and I would smoke a smaller one (usually a wild one). It doesn't even seem like Thanksgiving here today.

Very strange,

Falcon

We usually bake ours, but decided to smoke it this year.  Wow.  It is GREAT.  Then, since the smoker was still hot, we threw a slab of bacon on for a couple hours.  Best bacon I have ever had. :)
