Did anyone else happen to hear about this?

That's creepy but reminds me of story from when I was a kid...

There was this one old guy that lived a block away from my house. Nobody ever talked to him or I don't recall ever knowing his name. He kept to himself and did not like kids or strangers near his house. As kids we thought he was weird and thought for sure he was out to get all of us so we would play a trick on him from time to time, like knock on his door and hide, through TP at his house, etc. He got so aggrivated at us, that he bought two big German Shepards to keep us away. Weeks went by and we did not see him but we could here the dogs barking inside the house. Well, 8 months go by and the police show up at his house. They come back out with two body bags. One for the old guy and one for one of his dogs. The other dog was still alive and had been eating on the other dog and the old man but before that he had chewed up and eaten everything in the house including a 55 gallon garbage can full of dog food, a pantry and fridge full of food, and he had even figured out how to get water by flushing the toilet. What was weird was that, we had never noticed the smell until they opend the front door. The house stayed vacant for years until a couple bought the house and tried to fix it up. They said they could not get rid of the smell even after having all the dry wall and flooring replaced.

Just one of those fun childhood stories I like to tell.... :)

It happens all the time.  People are so self-absorbed in their own lives they don't  pay attention to anyone elses.  It's sad but true.  No one cares about anything that goes on around them anymore if it doesn't pertain to them.

Here is another story.

Man Found Dead After a Year; Still Watching His Blaring TV

70-year-old Hampton Bays resident Vincenzo Ricardo was found dead in his home, apparently from natural causes. Police found him after someone reported a broken water pipe at his residence. His body was sitting in front of a TV, still on.

Morgue assistant Jeff Bacchus said "You could see his face. He still had hair on his head," adding that his body was preserved from the low humidity in his house.

Not having any contact with anyone since December 2005, authorities had no answer as to why his power was still on. When asked, the neighbors just assumed he was in a long-term facility or a hospital; he suffered from blindness and diabetes.

They were talking about it on the radio today. Sounds like Detroit.. The creepy thing is apparently she was all dressed up in a nice dress and when they arrived she it was just bones in a dress with shoes on.

It is a terrible shame though to go that way without anyone noticing.
