so far ive been using offset worm hooks, but i hear that straight shanks also work, seems a little low tech  with all the fancy things u can do with a fishing hook now...

i only use them for open water floating worms   they work great for that but i have never tried them for anyother appilcations

I still use the good 'ol Tru-Turn hook on worms and creature baits.  Yes, I use offset hooks too, especially for finesse fishing.  

But I lost several fish once in a tournament after I had just switched over to offset hooks.  I immediately switched back to Tru-Turn hooks and didn't loose any more fish.

Maybe it's just me, but offset hooks and baitcasting gear don't make a good match for me.  :-/

I use straight shank hook for fishing in grass. There is nothing better for working thick grass.

For worms I like the the standard owner style offset hook over the wide gap hooks for more slender style and gets thru the grass a bit easier

I use straight shank hooks on plastics thinner in diameter than a 6 senko; once I reach senko diameter than I switch to offset round bend.
