Went to the doctor this morning to find out what the MRI showed and here's the diagnosis. Severe arthritis, torn ligaments, Radial anular tear, and extruded disc all at L4/L5.

Other than this I had a wonderful 56th birthday  ::)

Radial anular tear

may i please ask what that is and what it involves, that is if it doesnt break any forum rules lol ;D

I'm sorry to hear that Catt. It sounds painful. Rest up and get those injuries healed.

Dude, I sympathise.  I blew out my L4-5 and L5-S1 disks two Thanksgivings ago (lifting and bending sideays with my boat battery).  I got sciatica so bad I couldn't walk.  I had to have emergency microdiskectomies at both levels.

It is a tear in his disks on his vertebrae (or spine).

Here's what they are talking about...

I am sure it is painful! Might want to take it easy Catt, I hope you get well soon!

God bless!

ouch man!! get better

i guess on the bright side you have all winter to get better before the fishing picks back up  :)

Sounds painful. All in all...... happy Birthday!!!!!

>:( honestly sucks Catt

as for back problems.

You don't get much sympathy for it(not in a baby me kinda way) but a understanding of  'this crap hurts, and I can't do much)

If they don't see blood they think your a cry baby.

I've had back problems since I was 20 yrs old, almost did a surgery back in 99.

when your that hurt you take the simple things for granted, like say the bathroom issue  :'(

I fought with my neurosurgeon forever and it finally got to the point of taking a real good chance on crippling myself. Went ahead with the surgery and have had no regrets. Every now and then it'll get me :(! It was about 7 or 8 months ago and I was goning to buy some new jeans. Went into the dressing room to try them on. Got my pants off and started putting a new pair on. Got 1 leg on and started to put the other leg on and went to the floor! You know all those little things that seem to bother you sometimes...I immediately forgot all about them. My wife had to come in and help :-[. Figured I would have to buy the pants, couldn't get the damned things off ;D. Thankfully it was OK in a couple of days. Except for small instances like that, I'm better, I guess :P :-/ :P...

Redneckriot, you forget that Catt lives in the deep south.  In about a month the bass will be in pre-spawn, it they are not already.  Catt is going to miss out on some prime fishing time.

Catt, Happy Birthday!  Ain't it a bitzh gettin old?  I hope you feel better soon, but I doubt that will happen.  All the best.

I made an appointment with a neurosurgeon who just happens to be a friend; I had forgotten what he does for a living (y'all know how it is you don't think about till you need one). My appointment is on January 7th so until then its major pain if I want to hit the lake, Dr. Moore said I can go but not rough water rides and if I catch another DD have someone else lip it.

OMG Catt. I feel for you. Had 5 neck surgeries in the last 26 months. Good luck and hope everything can be resolved. Take it from one that's been there. If you can avoid surgery by all means do so. If not, there are some good ones here in Houston as a last resort. Good luck.

Talk to him about the steroid injections if you have n't already. They can help sometimes. Happy Birthday and again good luck.

Get well soon!
