It is not tackle or rods/reels/line so I figured I would put it here.

The rain-gear is made by Lodge Outfitters. I believe it is made of a Gore-Tex "like" material. It is getting a litte dirty and needs to be washed. Any step by step directions out there? Also on really dirty areas or stains what should I use and what shouldn't I use? Thanks

I have a really nice Mountain Hardwear jacket. (Gore-Tex) Your'e never supposed to use detergent. Other than not using detergent washing directions are the same. (Tumble dry low etc...) You can buy waterproofing stuff at most outdoor stores. I can't really help you with the stains...

Ok what is this about waterproofing?

According to how much you wash, and at least every 6 months you should re-waterproof your jacket. You can buy spray on stuff, or stuff you wash it with. I use Revivex. It's just a water repellent.

Keep it simple, next time it rains just wear it and sponge it a little with a mild soap in the dingy areas and it will sparkle like new.

I would reccomend consulting a Dry Cleaner or someone with a bit of experience. There is also somethign called a care label and will give you a CLUE on proper care, Gortex can be D/C only as well as "Do not D/C " Gortex is a membrane and the wrong laundry soap can even mess up the properties of the high tech material.

Again look to a professional, for what you paid for that out fit, it needs some special care.
