Just something PETA came up with... Still do not know if it really exist though.

For years, compassionate individuals have tried to protect fish from being impaled with sharp hooks and yanked out of the water. Now, PETA is enlisting state-of-the-art technology to help. PETA has worked with U.K. scientists to design robo-carp that are specifically designed to emit loud predatory noises.

Using remote controls, pro-fish activists will direct these robo-carp to circle boats that are fishing, thereby scaring all fish away from the fishing boats and saving the fish from horrible injuries and death on fishers' hooks.

Scientists have been working on robotic fish for years. In Britain, they created a robotic shark that was convincing enough to fool the real sharks and was able to record previously unknown shark behavior. Scientists in Japan hope to market their robo-koi to survey oil platforms for underwater damage. Robo-carp have been wowing people for years in the U.K. And now, even Hammacher Schlemmer sells a remote-controlled shark.

Just something I picked up from their site.

I know It's old news but I stopped hearing about it.

PETA is such a load of s**t....

they dont understand what fishing is all about and it barely even hurts the fish.

i would do the same thing as the jake if i saw that thing!!!!!!

PETA needs to get a life...I think we need to yank a hook into PETA's   .

PETA =

We as sportsmen/women should stand up against PETA

Peta is such a joke

If a peta member ever did that to me while I was fishing that member would be swimmin with the "robo" fishes

The Mooks have developed an anti PETA device called

Robo-A** H**E

An action such as this would be illegal in 48 states due to Hunter Harassment laws.

While the laws do not address such a situation specifically, it wouldn't take legal gymnastics to make it apply.

To answer the original question: Did Robofish ever exist?

NO

If one started swiming around the boat I was fishing on, I would net it and beat its robo-brains out. :P

2x

Well, I suppose all real fisherman could join together and have some scientists at Cyberdyne create some FISHINATORS which would swim around and terminate the Robofish if they ever become a reality.

The short answer is NO.

But, if Robofish does ever come to pass, I think I have the answer for it...
