Daytona 500 - Who is Going to Win?

Featured Replies

Glenn, I'm with you.  Don't care much for the COT.  It has it's pros and cons think it is the safest car/frame that has ever been constructed for the drivers (HUUGE plus) and I like the fact that it does introduce a lot of strategy.  BUT.  its basically reduced NASCAR back to the old IROC days.  And what was one of the main criticisms of IROC?

BORING.

After watching all the pre-race stuff I do miss the old days when the cars on the track looked like cars you see on the road.  Now, the only way you can tell if it's a chevy, is to look for the bowtie DECAL.  Call the cars what they really are Hendrick, Penske, Roushe, Gibbs, etc. built car that is sponsored by chevy, dodge, ford.  I'm sorry, but IMHO calling those cars a dodge/ford/chevy is like calling a 150 lb goliath grouper a bass.  Yes, technically it might be, but, it doesn't look like any bass I have ever caught at my lake.
