Daytona 500 - Who is Going to Win?

Featured Replies

OK guys, NASCAR starts off its 10-month series on Sunday with the Daytona 500.

Who do you think will win the race?

With Junior on a new team; Rainbow Warrior really wanting to get the Sprint Cup Championship; Martin being back at it; Johnson still showing signs that he is equal to last year; and Hamlin looking very good, it should be a good race.

Maybe Stewart will pull it out unless he is wrecked.  By accident, of course! ;)

Earnhardt looks impressive. I want a Toyota driver to win it.  Therefore, I guess I'll  take either Hamlin or Stewart. Do not under estimate Waltrip or Johnson either. And as far as I concerned, Gordon can blow his engine up on the first lap. ;D

Those plate races are pretty much snoozers but I'll keep one eye open watching for the wrecks.

Rooting for Montoya but really could care less who wins.

Earnhardt is my favorite so I am picking him plus he has daytona figured out. Without picking my favorite driver, I would say stewart gets his first daytona win.

Wow if I was a Gordon fan, I would not want Junior to have engine trouble because if he does more than likely all the Hendrick cars would have engine trouble. These guys all get their motors from the same shop. I have seen in years past that if one car on a team has engine trouble, then the rest follow the same fate.

I'm saving this quote for Sunday night. Not an Earnhardt fan by any means, but someone may be eating their hat after the race.  :)

Mikey W gets #3:o)  (although I'd love to see Mark Martin finally win the 500, especially after that heart-breaking loss at the tape)

I'd love to see Mark Martin in the winner's circle.

I've met Mark a few times, he's even nicer in person.  If anyone ever deserved to win the 500, he does.

GO 8!

I'd believe it.  Where did you meet him at?  Are you near Melbourne?

I met him once at his car dealership in Batesville, my dad went up there to look a truck and he happened to be there.  I also met him at AMP race event (I can't remember which track) that my cousin was racing in.

He's a real class act.

I'm puttin $50 on the pit car, anymore dibs? ;D
