Well, I'm not a b-ball fan, but I still like BIG events! Saturday night the #1 Memphis Tigers host #2 Tennessee Volunteers. This is hyped as the biggest athletic event EVER in Tennessee. So, even if you don't care about the sport or these teams, it's something to consider for Saturday night.

(You can still tape whatever you're usually watching on the Lifetime Channel)   ::)

Gonna be big one.     Tennessee has been building their program the past few years.    Pearl has done a great job, of course he still takes a back seat to the Greatest Basketball Coach in mens and womens Basketball, Pat Summit.

Don't think Memphis loses #1 seed with loss to Tenn.    Wouldn't mind seeing a perfect season go into the March Maddness either.

No dogs in the hunt, hoping for back and forth game.

I have been addicted to college b-ball this year and can't wait for this game. But I don't know if it will be better than that Duke/UNC game a few weeks ago. :-/

Don't know if i will get to watch it because I have to go to dinner with some friends. My wife planned it so that I could go to the BASMASTER CLASSIC. They live about 30 to 45 minutes away.

Might not be such a big deal if they lose to the Green Wave.  ::)  8-)  ;)  ;D

Hey, RW, That's great!

If you can, go check it out, don't think you would be disappointed. The entire college basketball world is focused on that game. You need to take it in if you like big events and can take it in.

How often do you get to see #1 and #2 play in your own backyard?

Living here in the triangle the last 13 years, the closest I have ever got was several years when dook was #2 and my beloved heels were #3.

But, we're talking 1 & 2 for you.

Tickets can be found!

"anywhere" for around $600, "good seats" about $5000-$7500!

Sidenote:

My daughter is a freshman at the U of M. A limited number of students get in free with their student IDs. Gates open at 5:00 for the game at 8:00 CST...

OH!

I meant to say, gates open at 5:00 AM and once in, you cannot leave and return!

Great game and a big win for Tennessee. Memphis lost touch and couldn't make 3s, then gave the game away at the line. The Vols took advantage of every opportunity and proved to a national audience, they will be a contender at the Big Dance. I hope the bracketing is arranged where we have a chance to see these teams play again, perhaps for all the marbles.

Congratulations to the Tennessee Volunteers!
