Yep, not bragging or anything, but I was on the academic excellence list, which I am proud of! ;D

I have got the best advice for you if your not in college yet. Learn how to study in high school. I am a junior in college and am trying to learn how to study..... If you don't learn to study you will regret it and you will think about what I said. I know you have a high GPA, but keep up the work and practice studying!

Great job. Just a heads up, Spanish these days will benefit you much more in the long run than German. Some college's/universities are mandating Spanish for any degree. Unless of course you plan on moving to Germany. Big pike over there. :o

I got my grades recently:

Calculus and vectors: 93%

Physics: 90%

chemistry: 89%

we only have 4 courses a semester at our school and I have a spare first period

If you're going to college to get a job that requires you to speak Spanish, why are you going to college? Think about it...

i can think of many jobs that require it. and in the near future you will need it in many areas of the country because of the growing hispanic population. besides even if you didnt need it for a job isnt it still a good thing to better your education?

I do not want to steer this topic off-topic so I will respond only once. I, too, can think of many jobs that require Spanish. However, I will submit that the number of jobs requiring BOTH a college degree and the ability to speak Spanish is vastly less than the current population of college students. Furthermore, I believe a great deal of competition does not exist for a majority of these jobs. Clearly there are exceptions.

With respect to the benefit of speaking a second language, I do not disagree. I take issue with whether that language should be Spanish by default. Why should your college choose for you? I understand the benefit of speaking Spanish in light of the growing Hispanic population but I question whether the benefit will, indeed, be long-term. That, however, is an entirely different topic.

we have our school years split into two semesters... and in each semester there is 4 classes so 8 classes a year in total. With the way the credit system works here it allows us to have 2 spares during our 4 years of high school, and still be able to graduate

I should have clearified more, in a degree program you might have to take a class or two as part of your Gen Eds.

Ok, back on topic
