Premium gas or mid grade.  I was just curious.

I put mid grade in my wife's Toyoya Canry but I read an article that said that newer cars have sensors that will automatically adjust the spark timing to allow regular grade to be used. My son is a service writer for Kearny Mesa Toyota and I'm going to ask him about that and if it won't hurt the car, I will switch over to regular immediately.

All octane is is a anti-knock addititve.  It causes gasoline to ignite at a higher temperature.  The vast majority of car don't need higher than 87 octane.  Nowadays, the only cars that specifiy anything higher than 87 are cars with "high performance"' engines that operate at high temperatures.  

I love watching non flex fuel cars trying to fill up with e85....that really cant be very good in the long run

I have to run at least 93-94 octane in my Mustang for cruising around town, and most of the time I run C16 from VP (117 octane) The last time I bought some it was $13.50 per gallon locally. Alas, that's why the car will sit for another summer until I decide to finally sell it.  :'( Can't afford to drive it after putting all the time and money into it.

Yeah my dad's car is tuned for 94 octane which is 5.80 a gallon up here!
