My nephew is about your age.  Just had knee surgery Thursday.  Up until then he had been pounding the muskey and smallies up here on the river.  He's out for about 3 months.  Probably no decent shoreline fishing for a month anyhow.  He's hoping that he'll be ready for football.  Do whatever you need to take care of that knee, and keep that casting arm in shape!  Good luck

Thanks the doctor said he couldn't see much, but he would send it to the specialist.  >:( Couldn't have been any worse timing  >:(

My right knee is real bad, but both of my knees are bad. I have been rollerblading competitively since I was about 7 years old, thats 10 years of (atleast 4 times a weak) 4 lb weights per leg pullin against my knee. I have osgoodslaughters disease in my right knee, and it's the worst. I should probably go see a doctor before it gets too bad.

How'd you manage to crush it.

I was running in a drunken stuper from bar to bar and stepped off a ledge.

I tore my medial meniscus a few years ago. 3 weeks after surgery I was back to work and about 100%. Total down time was about 1 1/2 months.

Two years ago, I tore the meniscus in my right knee. Got an operation, followed doctors orders, and got out fishing in less than 2 weeks.

Then badly fractured my left knee on both sides last August, and tore the other meniscus. Waited 4 months to get it checked out, and didn't take it easy. The darn thing spider fractured throughout the entire knee. Refused to get the recommended knee replacement or another meniscus operation. Finally got off crutches in April, and have to take it easy on the knee for the rest of the year. Unfortunately they still haven't rulled out the knee replacement.

I've had both knees and both shoulders done.  Take my advice and follow your doctors instructions.  When I was going through physical therapy,  the therapist talked about pro athletes and recovery times.  Ever notice how running backs never seem to be the same right in the same season and get traded?  Only to get with another team and within a year or two are back on track?  Same with pitchers.  He told me that it can take up to 2 years to fully recover.   I know it might seem like forever but,  it isn't.  Take your time and do it right.
