Hey there - for those of you who were at the Guntersville RoadTrip, have you tried out the freebies you recieved (JJ's Magic, Catch & Release, MegaStrike, Cavitron, Evolution Jigs, KVD Line & Lure, BTS boat protectant)?  If so, did they work for you? Post your findings here - good, bad, or indifferent.  Inquiring minds want to know!

While I was not at the Roadtrip, I have used the KVD Line and Lure and can attest for its productivity.  It is excellent stuff (much better than competitors' products) and I will be using that product from here on out.  Thank you KVD Line and Lure for a great product!

In a very unscientific review of the products I have used, I have concluded a few things....

1. KVD Line and Lure is without a doubt a great product.  I have been using on all my reels, but I really see it shine on my Pline Cxx.  Without the KVD, the stuff is not quite as manageable as I like.  With it, I have no issues.  Takes a good line and makes it great, puts great lines over the top.

2.  JJ's is a great product as well.  I have used it some to color tails on my worms used for bed fishing, but right now its all about the faster moving baits where I am at.  I think JJ's will really shine when the deeper water bite turns on here.  Plus, I really like the smell of garlic and this stuff reeks of it.   ;)

3. The Cavitron/Megastrike/Evo Jig gifts are also very high quality products.  The megastrike goes on every swimbait and literally stays on all day long.  The Shak-E2 heads stand up very nicely and have a great hook, although they dont skip very well due to that weight on the bottom.  Buzzbait time will be here shortly in PA. I used a Cavitron last year and was very impressed at how slowly you can reel that thing in and get it to stay on top of the water.

4.  I was out Musky fishing last weekend and while we did not catch anything, I got to explain the benefits of the Catch and Release formula to my fishing buddies. I like the fact that you can use the product directly on the fish to heal open wounds before releasing fish.

If you think bass guys are fanatical about practicing catch and release, talk to some hardcore musky fisherman and your eyes will be open to a whole new world of STRICT catch and release and care for fish. I plan to have this stuff in my livewell in EVERY tournament this year, without question.  It is that good.

5. As for the BTS, I have an aluminum jon boat and gave my bottle away.  I am not sure if Alpster or CJ ended up with the bottle, but I have had no experience with that product.

Looking forward to KY/Barkley in 2009.  Thanks everyone!!!!

KVD Line and Lure is the real deal. Probably the best new product I have tried this year. I don't have to look for the Yozuri Hybrid Ultrasoft anymore. I can use the regular Hybrid with this stuff and cannot tell the difference.

JJ's Magic has been a big hit on my boat this year too. Too many color combos to name but it was a big confidence booster on tough bite days. Spotted bass love this stuff.

Not to crazy about the Megastrike jigs because of hangup issues. I love the larger style hook and wish more jig makers would follow suit with this hook style. I think the weedguard could be a lot stiffer which would result in much less hangups. I fish some of the gnarliest stuff you could imagine.

Really liked the new E2 Shaky Heads. They have a winner there. Does as advertised and catches fish.

I noticed when using the smaller 1/8 oz. Cavitron Buzzbaits they had a tendency to roll over on retrieve due to the buzzer not spinning.  I thought it may be a single bait issue so I tried the other one.  Same issue...roll over on retrieve.  I adjusted the wire a bit and it seemed to help a little.  I'll stick with the larger 3/8 oz. version.  No problems there.
