the spider and  me

Featured Replies

i i have a few minutes to kill so i figured i would tell you guys about my little fishing incident last thurs morn , i keep my  mighty pond prowler out at a private club chained to a tree in the  thick brush next to the heavy formation of poison ivy because, frankly,  im too lazy to chain it farther and have to drag it to the water but anyway thurs morn started out routine got there before sunrise unlocked the boat dragged it to the water piled all my crap aboard it got on it and started fishing  after a few minutes of no action on my jitterbug i got restless and decided its lure changing time when i picked up my tackle bag  i thought i saw something scurry away , im thinking spider, a big spider?i mean how big can this thing be if it left a shadow from the predawn moonlight above me, so im thinking  how am i gonna be able to concentrate om my new  topwater selection knowing i may be sharing my 9ft pond prowler with a spider perhaps the size of a spinnerbait,  that perhaps, would think of my pantless leg as  a tree to scurry up to safety. the little guy on my left shoulder said leave him alone it is a one of gods little creatures he just wants to eat sleep and mate with as many spiders as he can, you know kind of like you but with women, on the other shoulder, the other little guy said what are you crazy stomp the son of a *itch he may be the size of pie pan its dark ,you cant tell , how much fun would it be dragging your boat to the water with an artifical leg  , stop i said to myself i  should be able hold him at bay with the tip of my 7ft med heavy st croix rod complete with supercaster 180 xl reel till sunrise where it would then be advantage me after all he is trespassing on my territory isint he , but then again me being the lover of nature i thought you know he realy isint hurting any thing being on board with me, he after all is much quiter than my wife, he isint scaring the fish and im sure he wont lose any of my expesive lures up in the trees, maybe i will pull to shore and set him free and as the sunrose i pulled to shore grabbed a tree branch with alot of leaves and convinced my little fishin partner to climb up it and set him free , end of story   aceman 387
