Tower of Power are one of three major bands to come from Okland in the late 60's

1. Santana: did their first tour with TOP. Needless to say Carlos's vison of blending Salsa,Jazz , Blues and R&B was a groundbreaking and lasting idea, they are still at it too.

2. Sly and the Family Stone: Larry Graham, their bass player put slap and pull plucking on the map.Sly was one of the first bands to feature an interracial lineup with both male and female musicans.

3.Tower of Power: HORN SECTION...no need to say more. Among them, professors of music and Emillio who is one of the heat beats of R& B and still going strong. This band has a history of some of the greatest drummers in the field; Garabaldi , Chambers and Thompson to name just 3. 8-)

Wow thanks Muddy, I have not heard this in a while. I was diggin it!!!!!!!!! Right on MAN
