I just downloaded 3.0 and have been playing around with the Firegestures add-on. If you usually navigate a few tabs simultaneously and have a decent motor-memory, you should check this out. By making certain simple gestures with your mouse, you can quickly execute many, many commands. The basics alone like Back, Forward, Refresh, New Tab, Close Tab, New Window, Minimize etc are very simple and really speeds up the whole deal. You should check it out.

If you ever owned an 8-track, or still fish a Mitchell 300 this might not be the feature for you :)

my brother has been using that add on for a while now. Does it really save that much time? I never thought it really looked that much more convenient.

mmm. in an hour of browsing, it might only save you a minute. I guess i should have relayed how efficient it makes your surfing. i have only commited half a dozen commands to memory enough that they come naturally, but it really seems super efficient not chasing buttons at the top of the screen.

Also, I often browse with a movie playing, that i pin over the top of the browser. with this, i can make the screen larger and still navigate.

hmm, maybe I will give it a shot. Usually when I browse  just keep a hand on the keyboard and use backspace to go back and that's pretty much all I need. I just read a little more about it and I think it could be more convenient than I thought.

Wait a minute...I had an 8-track player

I have a few 8 tracs laying around and still own a Mitchell 300.

I use Mozilla Firefox, does that make me special?

In fact I can still put my hands on an adapter that you shove in the 8 trac that allows you to play cassetes. Now how many can find that?

Lesseee here... alt+arrow gives me a forward/back button, alt+tab switches between windows, ctrl+tab switches between tabs, F5 refreshes, and so on... using keyboard shortcuts are MUCH faster than using a mouse!

Seems a Firefox plugin is only needed for the young 'uns who haven't been using a computer long enough.    ;D

Viva la 8-track!  ;)

You should step up from your roller ball mouse and get a mouse that has built in back forward buttons as well as a 4 way scroller. It's SICK!!!!

Dude,  that's awesome.  I had no clue I could this.  I just learned how to scroll down the page by using the down arrow instead of the mouse.  Thanks GLENN.

A few more keyboard shortcuts:

ctrl+T = new tab

ctrl+N = new window

ctrl+R = refresh

ctrl+H = history

ctrl+D = bookmark

ctrl+K = takes you to your search box in toolbar

ctrl+J = brings up your downloads box

I'm like Glenn, I prefer my keyboard shortcuts

Im telling you guys, try it out, give it a fair shake. you can execute any of these 5 times faster than keyboard shortcuts.

hold down the right button and move 1/4 to the left and release and you have gone back. takes .2seconds, lol
