They were able to make my new Kistler flipping stick into a two piece telescoping rod!

AWESOME!

>:(

The guy actually left the cracked tube at that angle on my doorstep...

EWWW.

my dsl gateway should have been here yesterday too, still hasnt shown up.

Complete bummer!  My dad used to fly for UPS and said he used to see the handlers swing tubes like that against the tugs and he once saw two guys take a tube at each end and bend it around a pole.

And it's not like this tube was thin, it's like a quarter inch thick...I seriously don't understand how you break it unless you are trying to.

Luckily, Simmons Sporting Goods is AWESOME and they are shipping me another rod tomorrow.

I've read (probably on this site) that most tube damage happens on their conveyor belts at the sorting center.

Still no excuse, that sux big time >:(

I sold two rods earlier this month.  Packed them into the thickest tube I had, walls were at least 3/8" thick.  Used a crapload of bubble wrap.

When the buyer got the package, the tube looked like it had been used in a sword fight.  Result?  Two one piece Carrot Stix became two two piece Carrot Stix.

First time I'd ever paid for insurance, hope it works out for the buyer.  First problem I've had with USPS.

Fed Ex is TWICE as good.  They managed to break a pvc tube in two directions all in 90 miles.  It was 2 mud hole custom blanks.

I'm sorry for your troubles, but that photo is hilarious.  ;D

Mudhole was awesome about it.  They overnighted 2 more the next day and told me to keep the pieces.  They did not even want pictures.

UPS? Wasn't aware we got Gateway back from DHL...

The tubes that Simmons ships rods in are really thick!

It's amazing that they arrive broken, it would take significant force just to break the tube.

Do they go through anything mechanical?

not the computer Gateway. The dsl connectivity device they call a gateway.

Ohhhhhhhh.  For a minute I was having flashbacks to those "cow" boxes from the mid 90's.

I've been told that anything over 6' long has to be hand carried through the facilities as the conveyor systems aren't designed to handle anything that long.

Methinks the term "hand carried" has a different meaning in the parcel shipping industry.   ;D

USPS snapped a rod sent to me last year....I've never had a problem with UPS though.

Glad its getting worked out for you Dan

I have had half of the rods I mailed ordered broken before they were recieved. What I find interesting is if you order direct from St. Criox they hire a messenger service to deliver, maybe this tells you something.

Delivered over 350 packages today. Not one of them was damaged.

Do they dock your pay when that happens?

In October I purchased a Kistler HE76HC. When it arrived the PVC was totally shattered, and the rod busted in two. The chode lickers at the USPS had the audacity to tape it back together, with about half of the shards of plastic, and send it on like nothing happened.

Wasn't me....

Tin?

Nope, and won't be until atleast the end of January...another surgery... >:(

Plus the only 6'+ tubes so how end up destroyed on my trucks are ones that are coming from Wisonsin and are from a company named after an island.

Tubes are not handled by hand at the air hubs, dad was seeing things dude.
