Fantasy Baseball

Featured Replies

So I'm finishing my fantasy challenge for the NFL playoffs.  This is the first fantasy stuff that I've ever done, and it's a lot of fun, plus it makes it a lot more fun to watch games that otherwise wouldn't be any fun to watch.

So I want to play fantasy baseball when this season kicks off, because I would really like to get into watching some MLB (since I just moved about 2 miles from Wrigley Field, I kind of have to).

Do any of you guys who are baseball fans play fantasy, and if you do, what are the basics, and where is the best place to play (ESPN.com, MLB.com, etc...)?  Or maybe we could start a BR League and start up some friendly competition...?

I never got into this. It really is pure Fanatsy, and does not reflect real time sports. It is obvious I guess, that is why they call it fantasy.

What I find so unreal is ,the competition is so unlike the game itself. The people who build the teams seem to get the competitive feeling as if they can actually manage a major league team. They plug numbers in on how their player did against other pitching and other teams, in other parks. I don't get this at all.

Something I noticed during divisional play when a strong team is playing 12 games at home against much weaker divisional rivals, Stats go way up, good time to trade is right before or after these home stands. Whats weird is these stats go into formulas against a model team, this is too weird and unreal for me.

Besides, watching the Mets blow another lead late in the season is more fun anyway. ;D

How did the red sox do? What they didn't go to the series either? Gee you coulda fooled me, but then again it takes a long time for sports news to get to Arkansas, especially if the mule is sick

The Sox almost pulled off another epic comeback. The Mets completed another epic choke job. ;D

Yea I guess 6 years of decent and championship level baseball might wipe out a 45 year of choking by the Red Sox for some, not this Met Fan though.

A legacy of choking has to start somewhere.  Could it be that we are just at the ground floor of the Mets legacy?

Best of luck to you in the Mets this year Muddy.  I think the AL East is going to be quite crowded.

You also Mook. Just remember there are days I root for the Red Sox, on the days they play the Yankees. I would love of all years to see you beat them out by a half a game ;D

I root for the Mets during the Subway Series. We have found common ground.  ;D
