Check out this video of the equipment used to recover the airplane from the Hudson River.

Weeks Marine is one of my (employers) largest customers. We repair their Detroit Diesel engines in just about anything they own, from 2 cylinder generators and pumps up to 2400 cubic inch tugboat main engines. If you think the stuff looks big in the videos, imagine seeing it up close as I have. It's mind blowing what they can lift.
