What's up with the view counts?

Featured Replies

Is it just my computer or is anyone else showing this error. A post can have 10 replies and show zero views.

Same thing here.

Entire forum has been screwy for the last week or so.  Quite a few avatar photos not showing up, long load times, etc.

Guess we're in for a long maintenance mode tonight.

View count - known bug.  Hope to have it fixed soon.  It's just cosmetic and doesn't affect the functionality of the site, so no need to worry.

Missing avatars and long load times are due to people linking to external sites for images.  There's nothing I can do about it, as the slowness and missing images are coming from those sites.

When I say long load times, I mean it may take five or more minutes for a page to load. IMO not related to avatar photos.

I've had to reload many times today to even get the forum to come up.  Took 10 minutes to just get this reply page up.

Talked to Jimzee earlier, he said he was having problems accessing the site, much less anything else.

Sorry guys, but everything checks out fine on the server.  No errors, no slowness, nothing out of the ordinary.  This points to an issue somewhere between your connection and the server.  Something totally out of my control.

No issues with connection speed here. Just the numbers on the view count were a concern.

Mine was slower than watching water boil the other day.  Every other site was fine though. It is now working good for me.

BR is the only site that is slower than molasses. One minute it's nice and fast, the next the pages won't even load.

Oh, and yes Glenn, I've cleared my cache, etc.

It was slow for me all day, sometimes to the point it wouldn't load. I've noticed a few other members double posting recently due to the pages not loading right. I tried to send a PM last night and finally give up after 20 minutes. I thought it may be the browser I was using, that wasn't it either. I tried two other browsers, same thing on them. I've tried clearing the cache, cookies, just about everything I can think of. It has been kind of hit and miss here lately on the slowness. Last night everything was running fine then all of a sudden, back to dial-up speed or slower.

Glenn, I'm not complaining, just wondering what I am doing wrong. Do you think photo hosting sites such as Photobucket might be having issues causing this problem? Any suggestions? :-/

BTW, it is running slow right now for me, anyone else?

[edit]Back to running fast and normal again, this is frustrating. :-?[/edit]

I need to know exactly what time this is happening (include your time zone), and report it immediately so that I can check the site right when it's happening.  There's nothing in the server logs that points to any issues. So I'm still inclined to believe it's something outside of the site.

Happened about five minutes ago, fifteen minutes ago, an hour and a half ago.

Just happened, 11:49AM EST.  Clicked on a thread, took about three minutes to load.

Unable to access forum or anything else on the site from 6:35PM EST - 7:10PM EST.

During that time, visited BBC, ar15.com, Facebook, FoxNews, National Review, rushlimbaugh.com, GMail and my own two forums.
