EARLY SPRING?

Hey Fellas: I don't know if this is a sign of early spring, but the Turkey's around here have begun gobbeling. Seems a bit early for that. 2 mornings in a row.

That is early. Getting any thunder showers by chance? They will gobble at any loud or unusual noise. I usually have about a dozen or so behind my house that start around the second week of March. Maybe they're in the "mood".

No, just really warm weather and they are behind a corn field. No hens clucking just a few loud gobblers the last 2 mornings.

I suspect with this recession going on they're probably unemployed and have got nothing else to do.  Gobbling doesn't cost anything and it probably helps with their self esteem.  Hopefully the stimulus package goes through, I think I saw a few million devoted to putting wild turkeys back to work by employing them building bridges or something like that.   :D

A lot of them wind up with jobs at the SWANSON plant

They have been paid by the bass to get you up too early so you're tired when you head out on the water. Typical fish conspiracy :).
