THIS VIDEO SHOWS A hunting IMPACT SHOT. IF IT'S OVER THE TOP, PLEASE DELETE THE POST.

I thought this video was pretty cool. You can see the shot that stops the charging lion.  He's dead before he hits the ground.

I would have to wonder if it was somehow goaded into charging.

Fairly reduced visibility in the shrubs and trees. 3 guys in shooting position already when it starts closing from only 50 yards, and the camera ready.

Seems like they had had enough time to put a shot on it before it charged.

I dont know, maybe I am weird, but even when I was living in Colorado and hunting more than fishing, I have never enjoyed seeing big predators taken down. Just doesnt seem right.

I don't know if they are goaded into charging or not, But here is a vid that was running hot and heavy a couple of years ago, and this lion basically does the same thing.  I agree  with the others, it is awesome footage, but is it hunting?  :-/

I thought lions were on the endanger specie list?

Sometimes in Africa, Lions and other predators are killed because they are rogues, that kill the tribes cattle. I've watched a couple hunting shows where the hunt was initiated for that reason. There was a disclaimer at the end of the show, stating the lion was killed because he killed X number of cattle and needed to be taken out.

Bizz,

that looks like the same footage I saw on tv a year or so ago...  the guy interviewd said it had been shot once already and they were after it for a follow up or just to retrieve it.  Obviously the first shot wasn't well placed... or they rushed up on it right away.
