Yeah. between that type of thing the fake bank notices (I get one from just about every bank imaginable almost daily), and paypal warnings (too bad I dont have an account), I am half tempted to close my hotmail account.

Be careful of phone fraud too. That is up. Had some nimrod call my house a little while ago demanding payment for a farm agency insurance policy I closed. Funny thing was, he sounded like he lived under a rock. when I pushed him for identifying numbers and details on who I was he did not have them. And I have never had an account with such an agency. Them the kicker, he called me from him home address without blocking the number. So my caller ID gave me all the info I need to give to the police to go have a chat with him.

M star, PM me your email I'll send you an invite to Gmail. Much better than hotmail and you never get a scam again. I have yet to see any of the scams come across my gmail, but if they have they are buried in the spam section no spam ends up in my inbox. Pretty sweet.

it free by the way.

Gmail all the way. You can even have all your hotmail forwarded to your gmail account and it will still discard your spam in a junk folder. The best email server I have found.

i'm not sure how this scam is supposed to work (but i don't use ebay much so i wouldn't know).

is this person trying to trick you into sending them a product?

Usually, if you click to reply to it, it takes you to a "fake" login page, which you then enter your username and password, and it sends it to the hacker and now they have your login information. Which they could then get your credit details or buy stuff, etc. Some sick people in this world.

Yea I've seen hackers use that fake login page to get onto people's Myspace accounts. Not sure whats that about but they do it so much now that someone should be concerned for the kids on there.

Well it could be a fake login or some other page with some nasty code in it. You never know.

Hey Root Beer, I actually have a GMail account. I keep my hotmail account mainly as my "signup" account. That way when I sign up or register for a site for work, home, etc all those spams and stuff that result from them selling my email go to my hotmail. The junk filter on hotmail catches about 99% of them, but as I have had that hotmail account for 10+ years (that is scary it has been that long), it is hit by a LOT of spammers.
