I can't believe it.

He is so young.

I remember his come back and when he pitched in Richmond onhis way back to the majors.

The Diamond was packed.

He was great to see.

Man, this is sad news.  :'(

Is there a team playing in Richmond this year Sam?  Seems odd to me since the Braves moved AAA to Gwinnett although it makes since for them if they need somebody for a home series.

What sad news. Mark Fidrych was loved here in S.E. Michigan. He won our hearts in 1976 with that magical season. He will be missed.

Falcon

Terrible news. He was a piece of work, he got you excited in a (basically) slow game. Unfortunately, the tigers ruined his arm and what might have been a long and great career. If you like baseball and are too young to have seen him pitch, try to find some film somewhere. The tigers were not a very good team, but when the bird was on the mound, there would be a sell-out either home OR away. godspeed.....

Stripes, sadly, no baseball in Richmond this year.

Maybe by 2011 if we get a new stadium down in Shockoslip, which there are pros and cons.

Going to The Diamond was fun and safe.

I guess we will have to do more fishing this year.  :)

After posting that question, I done the intelligent thing and researched it.  Looks like you might possibly have a team next year, but probably only if they promise to build that facility by 2011.  Looks like you might take a team Connecticut thats AA.
