Last time I ordered a rod from BPS I placed the order over the phone and it took over a week before the item actually left their dock.  My buddy ordered some ice jigs two weeks ago and half of them were the wrong color.  I'm done with them.  All of my stuff comes from *** or Hookeduptackle.com now.

Everything will arrive on time and in good condition.

BPS and Cabella's are excellent with their mail order programs.

In the Richmond, Virginia geographical area we are blessed with Green Top, Castaways, Gander Mountain and the two Williamsburg tackle shops so for other than Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft Hybrid line we can usually find what we are seeking locally. :)

Sounds like alot of you have poor planing skills, but, nobody asked me.  If you needed something next week, why didn't you order it a month ago? Do you really NEED to have this rod/reel/lure/tacklebox/whatever in a week? You are as messed-up as the people you are angry with. As for the shipping charges- it is dumb to not charge by weight, but that way their employees don't have to know how to read a scale! I've ordered from bps & cabelas for many years and have never had a problem with my orders. Blind luck, i guess.   later

It doesn't have anything to do with planning skills.

There is something wrong when you pay way more than you should for standard five day shipping and it takes them two to five days to process your order.

If Tackle Warehouse can get me an item from California to Kentucky in three days for FREE, why can't Bass Pro come anywhere close to doing the same.

Also, don't get me started on the one time I paid for overnight shipping and it took 3 days to process my order.

Sweet irony.

BPS order shipped the next day, showed up on time, and had everything I ordered in perfect condition.

So last night, I ordered a new set of waders from Cabelas. I have always liked Cabelas. Not the best prices, but fast shipping and great customer service. Their site states that "ALL ORDERS PLACED BEFORE 9PM CENTRAL TIME SHIP THE NEXT DAY". I ordered around 6PM central time yesterday. As of yet, no shipping info. ;D

Cabelas has lately been pretty lax in sending emails regarding orders.  The last order I placed with them, I didn't get anything from them for a couple of days.  Then it was an email every week for almost two months (backordered clothes for my wife).

Cabelas IM service kicks az.

I hate having to call customer service.

Turns out my order shipped out this morning, but they typically delay the shipment email until it has time to make it to the hub and be scanned.

So cabelas still owns BPS.

I live 5 minutes from a tackle place with good prices and two hours + or - from a BPS. Unless I just absolutely need something, I dont order. I took some crap trying to get a trolling motor so that was it... untill i need another troller ;D

The poor planning skills were that they didn't tell the person who was buying their gift to get them a gift card from TW instead of BPS.
