Due to the pig flu the state has cancelled all UIL school activities until May 11. This includes any and everything reguarding outside activities. This includes band, choir, sports, track, everything.

We have a few cases around the state, but I was not aware it was this serious.

Oh yea it's serious....

The W.H.O. (World Health Organization) has raised the pandemic level to 5....

There is nothing to be worried about! This whole thing is being blown out of proportion by the media. There are only five cases of this flu and even then they are just "flu like symptoms" and those cases are doing very well and the are expected to recover 100%

In the United States, the swine flu virus has spread to 11 states and infected 94 people, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Oh and hopefully you can pass your info on to the parents of the 23 month old toddler who died in Texas. They'll be happy to know that the kid is expected to "recover 100%"

As for me, I'm paying close attention to what the "medical experts" are saying , not any unqualified questionable characters

The toddler came across the boarder from Mexico and was sick when he arrived in the USA.

Any flu must be taken seriously.

The swine flu is a rough one and although we are getting prepared to handle it in the USA, others around the world are in peril.

Let's hope this flu goes away without leaving a catastrophic wake.
