doesn't signing the back of the notice serve as a signature for delivery?

I've been waiting on a package to be delivered and I signed the first notice and put it in the door, don't get home early enough for delivery and they won't deliver after 5 here, no big deal...then I get a second notice. So, I signed the second notice and TAPED it to the door with the first and a note to leave the package under a bench on the porch.  Get home and there is a final notice for delivery stuck ON THE NOTE.  I just don't get it, I thought that the point of signing the notice was so that it could be left at the door.

I'm not bashing UPS, first real problem I've had, at least they won't leave it if a signature is needed.  I just really want my package and now I have to wait till next week when I can go get it   :(

It depends on the package. Some things require signatures in person. Some examples would be Dell computers, and things that require someone over 21 to sign. When I worked for UPS I would always write on the note why a signature was required in person. Your other option is if you have a neighbor you trust you can leave a note telling the driver to have them sign for it.

They left my Dell computer on my side porch in the rain...without a signature.

Why don't you fellas put on a brown shirt for a week as see how hard these fellas work? 2 fellas i fish with work (one for USPS and one for Fed Ex) you would not believe what is expected of them and what they go through
