I plan on reseeding my lawn this fall because my grass turns brown every summer even if I water it. Any hints on types/brands? I live in Virginia

Zoysia/Bermuda Blend

Loves sun and will put up with a little shade. Doesn't require too

much water and is as thick as a wool carpet! Withstands a lot of

foot traffic and abuse.

You probably have a Kentucky Bluegrass lawn.  It really doesn't like hot weather.  You would probably do better with a variety of fescue.

Thanks guys! I don't know what kind of grass I have now but will be doing some heavy reeseding in the fall. Will look into the Zoysia and fescue types
